What You Need:

•Stretchy fabric: I’ve used a velvet Lycra

•Tapestry needle: size 16, thick shaft

•Four-inch embroidery hoop: I’ve used a flexible hoop with a wood effect

•DMC embroidery floss: Blanc, 224, 316, 340, 341, 371, 422, 524, 597, 754, 964, 3064, 3354, 3363, 3726, 3774

•Scissors, glue, card stock, toy stuffing

Getting Started

Begin by tracing the template onto the fabric. I’ve used DMC Magic Paper—a water-soluble fabric—for this project because the project will need to be embroidered onto stretch fabric to create the stuffed dome pincushion shape. This can distort the template if it’s transferred directly. It works best if you choose something stretchable, such as velvet Lycra.
